Our team is continuing work on eco-printed and dyed patchwork set pieces for upcoming performance events, including oversized pillows and duvets. Explore various techniques for botanical and eco-printing on fabric alongside plant gathering and readings selected by our guest facilitators. You can add a printed patch or two to our creations, or take your "makes" home to use in your own projects.

Each meeting of Slow Social Club will feature a different guest facilitator. Check out our schedule below and head over to eventbrite to see full details for each event.

Looking for more relaxed, land-based practice? We’ll also be hosting open studios at the Sunshine Coast Art Centre’s newest arts space, Kiosk located at Persephone Brewing. Come check out accessible natural dye garden beds and open studios hosted by local and guest artists.

Slow Social Club - Summer is hosted and produced with the Sunshine Coast Arts Council, as part of our summer residency. Entrance is Free by Registration on eventbrite. Materials provided.

Feel free to reach out to Barbara at barbara@theonlyanimal.com about programming. For questions about the gallery reach out to info@sunshinecoastartscouncil.com.

About Slow Social Club

The Only Animal’s Slow Social Club offers soft tactics to remember and repair our relationships to place through slow, process-led artmaking. Each edition responds to local themes, materials and collaborators, and becomes a co-creation between The Only Animal and its communities. You can experience our growing textile installation at Slow Social events throughout the province. Attendees will interact with plants, eachother, human-made materials, and artistic practice to draw attention to the natural rhythms of the summer season.

This work is made possible through The Only Animal's supporters, including The City of Vancouver, British Columbia Arts Council and the Vancouver Foundation.
